At the end of July 2010, h2go coaching went to Slovenia. We drove to Slovenia via Dover/ Calais. 2 Days driving and an overnight stop later and we arrived at the campsite in Bovec.

The campsite had been chosen for it's position close to the centre of Bovec. The Soca river is close by. The Soca river is ideal for kayakers new to whitewater or those that with a little more experience, but find an alpine trip to challenging.
The blue water of the Soca river, is ideal for coaching. Easy sections build gradually, so progress can be as fast or slow as needed, with easy access points.

We arrived the day before the rest so we could get a good pitch and check out the river for the next day. Sunday morning saw the first days paddling for the group.

Sunday, Day 1
Napoleon bridge, Kobarid to Kamno. A couple of bridges further down river. A gentle start to shake the cobwebs out after all the travelling.

Monday, Day 2
Cezsoca to Boka. Lots of chance for coaching, probably the Shortest stretch of river we would paddle.

Tuesday, Day 3
Cezsoca to Srpenica 2. Building confidence by paddling the same section again followed by 2 progresivally harder sections. Shame about the walk out though.

Wednesday, Day 4
Zmuclica to Cezsoca. After taking a look at the gorge we would not be paddling. We raised the grade of river again, lots more coaching opportunities, lots of rocks to eddie out behind and waves to surf.

Thursday, Day 5
Zmuclica to Cezsoca again. The group enjoyed the day before so much, we did it again.

Friday, Day 6
Rain, Rain and More Rain, the group made the decision to have a day off.

Saturday, Day 7
Boka to Srpenica 2, A re-run of what we had done earlier in the week so the group could see how much they had improved from the beginning of the week.

The week was over, most of the group stayed on sightseeing, and were encouraged to paddle the same section they ran the first day on there own, which they did successfully.
