Sea kayak Anglesey's classic paddles. North stack, South stack, Penrhyn Mawr, The Skerries, Point Lynas to name a few. Itinerary. Day 1 After checking out boats and equipment, well meet and launch from Bull Bay. We will paddle to point Lynas, via East Mouse. Stopping at Porth Eilian. Loosening up those muscles and re-acquainting us with our sea kayaks. As the tidal race increases well practise our breaking in, surfing and possibly rescues. Returning to Bull Bay. An after paddle debrief followed by a discussion on the following days paddle. Day 2 Meet and launch at Church bay, paddle a course for the Skerries. Have lunch, explore and take photographs of the seals etc. Return to Church bay using the tidal flow. An after paddle debrief followed by a discussion on the following days paddle. Day 3 Meeting and launching at Soldiers point on Hollyhead. Paddle to North stack, with the opportunity to see the tidal race build, Playing and surfing the waves. Continuing on to South stack, The scenery can only be dreamt off, unless at sea. Finally rounding Penrhyn Mawr is an awesome sight. And then on to Porth Dafarch, for a bit of surfing before getting out. Day 4 With the excitement of the last three days, todays paddle is hopefully tamer. Seals and birds more in abundance than waves. But hey there are still some tidal flows to negotiate. And if conditions are right, a tidal race to play on. Itinerary depends on the weather, sea state and paddlers ability. You can usually find places to paddle around Anglesey, what ever the weather and sea conditions. Paddling ability The planned paddles are advanced, with confused seas, difficult landing areas. The new UKCC BCU 3 Star Sea kayak award is the minimum standard. Please contact if unsure of the suitability of this trip. Cost £130 for the four days leading. This does not include transport , food or accommodation. I will be camping and you are welcome to camp at the same site. Boats and Kit can be hired, although at the required level of paddling for the trip, normally you would be excepted to have your own. If in doubt please contact. |
